All of the other Dragon-themed sets datamined during the 10.1 PTR have bold colors that correspond to the major dragonflights – Red, Blue, Green, Black, and Bronze. Some of the sets even have an ominous black/silver tint that hint at the Infinite Dragonflight.

However, the “Dragon Green” set only comes in three pastel tints that don’t really line up with the dragonflights. Could this be another hint we are returning to the Emerald Dream in a future patch, returning to the unfinished business from The Dreamer questline at Dragonflight launch?

The armor is clearly inspired by Ysera’s Dragonflight model, which references her connections to the Green Dragonflight, Ardenweald, and Elune through leaf details, anima effects, and mooncloth-style armor. The three datamined colors line up with these forces as well–green, light blue, and gold.

Dragon Green Armor – Life?

While Ysera is no longer leader of the Green Dragonflight and guardian of the Emerald Dream, the floral shoulders and this particular color scheme pay tribute to her legacy. Since this armor closely resembles Ysera instead of a current member of the Green Dragonflight, it makes sense why the other colors don’t follow a dragonflight color scheme.

Dragon Green Armor – Ardenweald?

The color scheme used for this armor set is reminiscent of Ardenweald and the Winter Queen’s armor. Ysera is bound to Ardenweald’s fate following the events of Shadowlands, and can only leave without a great sacrifice.

Dragon Green Armor – Elune?

Finally, we have a color scheme with a soft golden glow, which looks more pastel than the bright gold pieces we’ve seen associated with the Bronze Dragonflight. While we haven’t seen Elune’s model in-game yet, we know she is the sister of the Winter Queen, representing the opposite realms of Life and Death. As the Primus says “Together, they embody the balance of the great cycle.” The complimentary color of blue is yellow/orange, so this armor tint could represent how the sisters are opposites, but related. In addition, we’ve been seeing some recent items with a Night Elf aesthetic that shift between moon and sun variations: Ash’adar, Harbinger of Dawn and Ensemble: Burden of Unrelenting Justice from the Trading Post.

Elune and Ysera shared a close bond through millennia, with the Winter Queen referring to Ysera as “my sister’s pet” after Elune cleaned Ysera in death, sending her to Ardenweald. Her long history with Tyrande and the Night Elves is reflected in the white armor details that is highly reminiscent of mooncloth.

A datamined icon hints the Dragonflight story will take us to the Emerald Dream, so could we finally learn more about Elune?
