Enchanted Crest Recipe Changes

Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest and Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest are the two new Enchanted Crests in Patch 10.1 that can be applied to Epic Quality gear. In the previous release, these recipes only required the BoP looted Crest(s) and a handful of enchanting materials, but a Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest now requires x2 Dracothyst while a Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest requires x1 Dracothyst. Both of these recipes still need enchanting materials, but most materials have been cut in half.

The two Rare Quality infusions, Enchanted Whelpling’s Shadowflame Crest and Titan Training Matrix V, do not require this BoP gem. The matrix’s recipe has stayed the same and the Enchanted Whelpling’s Shadowflame Crest has only been changed slightly.

All of these recipes still have the ability to change before Patch 10.1 goes live!

The Looted, Non-Enchanted Crests are obtained through various Dragonflight activities. The type of Crest you get depends on the difficulty of the content you complete. These can be used to upgrade Non-Crafted gear and are a part of the new upgrade system in 10.1 that is replacing Valor. If you would like to know more, click here.

Dracothyst – New BoP Reagent

Dracothyst is a brand new BoP reagent coming in Patch 10.1. Originally, this item was only used in a handful of new crafts including the new Jewelcrafting Embellishments and toy, Alchemy Cauldrons, and the new Engineering Tinker, but in the latest PTR release, Enchanted Aspect’s Shadowflame Crest and Enchanted Wyrm’s Shadowflame Crest will now require this item.

Dracothyst Transmutes
Dracothyst can be created by the new Alchemy Transmute, Transmute: Dracothyst. It costs 250 Zaralek Glowspores and 50 Silken Gemdust per gem. The current way to earn Recipe: Transmute: Dracothyst is unknown. It could be a rare world drop, Renown reward or something completely different. This gem does not have any qualities attached to it, but alchemists will be able to proc Multicraft and/or Resourcefulness when crafting it. Due to Dracothyst being BoP, non-alchemists will have to place Work Orders to have them crafted.

Currently on PTR, this recipe has a daily cooldown. Players will need to rely on multiple alchemists, hope for Multicraft procs, or gather shards to gain multiple Dracothyst a day.

Dracothyst Shards
Dracothyst can also be created by combining x10 Dracothyst Shard. These shards are BoP and their exact source is currently unknown. If shards are able to be picked up by anyone, this could be a way for people to earn Dracothyst without having to rely on an alchemist.
