Although we haven’t seen the associated quest yet, it seems to work exactly like those of previous tiers – with players acquiring multiple of these Fragments over several weeks of defeating Smolderon on each difficulty. While Shadowlands raids required four of Anduin’s Mourne Fragment and Kel’Thuzad’s Phylactery Shard, Dragonflight reduced this to three of Broodkeeper’s Shard of the Greatstaff and Neltharion’s Tome of the Earth-Warder, which appears to continue forward into it Patch 10.2.
As with previous raids, once the associated quest is turned in, players should be able to skip directly to Smolderon after defeating the raid’s introductory boss, Gnarlroot.
