Soon after World of Warcraft Dragonflight released Patch 10.0.5, Blizzard Entertainment announced that Retribution Paladins will be getting a refresh on Patch 10.0.7. The community has found a lot of leaks about the PTR, but Blizzard has officially confirmed the direction of the move with Retribution Paladins.

On Feb. 7th, one of the devs from World of Warcraft outlined in a Blue Post plan for Retribution Paladins in Patch 10.0.7. In this post, the dev mentioned changes to the Paladin class tree and Retribution Aura.

The damage from the damage, by the retribution aura, will be capped at 5 cent and for 10 seconds to all party or raid members when a party or raid member within 40 yards takes 50 percent of their health in damage. Thus, it will easily become one of the highest-priority utility spells of both Mythic+ and raids.

And, with that, Retribution Paladins will have a new baseline passive in order to take a good look at Instrument of Retribution. Seraphim talent was removed altogether from the Paladin talent tree. In our previous notes, we mentioned stacking auras and having to press large quantities of buttons. Seraphim is a relatively large factor in both of these two problems, so we feel it better to take the result of this cooldown and build it into your core abilities, explained the dev. Using the above examples, Divine Toll will become a talent in the Paladin class tree.

Unfortunately, Blizzard hasn’t shared full list of changes coming to Retribution Paladins in Patch 10.0.7, but the team promised that it’ll share in-depth development notes in the near future. Unfortunately, we cannot see what team will do against Retribution Paladins for lack of survivability and lack of defensive cooldowns.
