During his previous charity streams, these weekly runs raised $5,500 for the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network and $6,000 for the Joyful Heart Foundation, so far helping over 900 players earn in-game rewards like Ahead of the Curve: N’Zoth the Corruptor, Glacial Tidestorm, and G.M.O.D., while giving out more than 40 prizes including WoW game Time, in-game pets, Shadowlands Heroic & Epic Editions, and Blue Yeti microphones!
Like all of DesMephisto’s streams, these are charity drives supporting several worthwhile causes. While normally supporting mental health advocacy, this current round is pledged to the California Fire Foundation, supported by giveaways at each donation goal – he’ll be giving away Shadowlands Beta keys at $500 and $1,000 raised, followed by Warcraft TCG cards, Pets, and a Blue Yeti microphone at $2,500. Prizes have been sourced from various organizations including Blue and Wowhead, as well as the World of Warcraft guilds Zeroes to Heroes, Keep Calm, and Flame providing Mythic raid rewards.
The group is currently doing Horde AOTC runs every Saturday starting at 3pm PST with Alliance on Sunday at the same time from now until Shadowlands releases, although they are currently restricted to the North American region only (though please reach out if you’d like to get involved in the EU). They’re still looking for more people interested in earning earning Ahead of the Curve or rare Battle for Azeroth mounts, so please reach out if you’re interested in getting these before Shadowlands arrives. DesMephisto is well known at this point for many achievements, most recently collecting all plate armor appearances and one-handed weapon transmogs in the game, leveling more than 60 characters to max level, achieving multiple speed leveling records, and being a major contributor to Azeroth Auto Pilot, all while promoting charity in support of mental health organizations such as the the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network and Joyful Heart Foundation. While certainly not the only speed leveler in WoW, his dedication to streaming and frequent charity events have garnered a lot of attention on Reddit, Discord, and other online communities, including an interview with PC Gamer, and streaming WoW for 36 hours for inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records, as well as givin his opinions on the new Heirloom changes coming in Shadowlands.
DesMephisto’s previous streams raised $3,365 for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), gave away a Shadowlands Epic Edition, and celebrated by eating an onion covered in Da’ Bomb Hotsauce, which is fairly well known for being… well, horrible. There’s more to come too, as DesMephisto has dedicated to continuing his support for charity with more goals and giveaways over the month.
