Dire Maul: East Druid Gold Farming – Classic WoW

This video hopes to address the misconception that Druids in Classic WoW only really farm Gold through gathering professions or duo runs.

It also explains in detail how to properly execute the Dire Maul: East Whip Lasher farming method.

Main run begins at 14:42

Every piece of gear, apart from those with high-intellect values (pref int+stam) should be feral gear ideally, yes. 3399 Mana is the main threshold you want to hit.

However, my gear in the video was not very good – it was a while ago, but i believe this is a pretty realistic idea of what my gear was at the time:

Head: Praetorian Coif of the Monkey
Neck: Horizon Choker
Shoulders: Stormshroud Shoulders (but not sure)
Cloak: Sergeant’s cloak
Chest: Warbear Harness
Wrists: Cenarion Bracers
Gloves: Abyssal Leather Gloves of Striking
Belt: Shadow Panther Hide Belt
Legs: Indomitable Leggings
Boots: Ash Covered Boots
Ring 1: Blackstone Ring (solo’d from Princess)
Ring 2: Ring of Protection
Trinket 1: Mark of Tyranny
Trinket 2: Mark of Resolution / Royal Seal of Eldre’Thalas
Weapon: Bonecrusher

However, i strongly believe that if you have the mana (3399), and any sort of feral gear (lvl 55+) you could more than likely solo these with a feral spec

  1. So just a little update, I was able to do this fast enough to incur lockout status with my druid tank. I'm still not sure this is as viable as the mara princess farm… which I also do as druid tank (goblin dies in average 2mins princess @8mins combat time good stuff). It seems like since these guys have had their drop rate sincerely lowered that they do not seem as viable anymore. Just my 2cents.

  2. not immune to nature damage on yojamba, oceanic US server, i just tank them with some tank gear i got cos i ain't got barkskin

  3. Got most of my pre BiS and am completely capable of doing all of this without even relying on the hurricane. Thanks for the very informative video!

  4. i dont think that will work in vanilla wow. the channeling cast will be interrupted in 1sec. i have the same problem with my warlock. 1 hit during rain of fire = 50% of channel time gone

  5. Is there a way to make this work better using some AOE damage consumables like the Engineering stuff? Or is it not profitable?

  6. Out of curiosity, why would you show a druid how to video but have the pirate costume on? I mean it wasnt a requirement, why not dispell it? It would be easier to see whixh form to use without looking at unitframes.

  7. Great vid, thanks for actually showing a viable method for doing lasher run. most just say "go farm DM East on lashers. Thanks for telling us all just what the heck that even means!! (also if you go main entrance there is a stump you can aim for on my Pserver… less fall damage and doesn't aggro mobs) Keep making videos! I'll main a Resto and need ways to farm reliably without changing spec. Woot for AoE Druid!!

  8. @Leemo I used to farm diremaul in vanilla as a mage and i remember a stealthed satyr to stand in the south east corner of the ground level you jump down to at 17:50. I think you would have pulled it there. Not saying your method would not work but tis a elite with about 8k hp if i remember correctly.
