Class Themed
Unlike the Hellfire Citadel class trinkets, these are shared between multiple classes, rather than individual per specialization. While some of them may be situationally better than others, depending on the spec in question and how much it actually uses the triggering ability, they are intriguing trinkets that are extra special due to having an accompanying “curse” during their beneficial effect.
All Specs
- Seething Black Dragonscale – seemingly a spiritual successor to Wrathion’s Humming Black Dragonscale in Ny’alotha, the falling effect is interesting and potentially powerful… though likely very circumstantial. It could be great if there are any encounter mechanics like the phase transition on Avatar of Sargeras or Raszageth’s first intermission though!
- Envoy to the Empty – this trinket is fairly straightforward, though raises some interesting lore questions. We don’t know who An’shuul, the Cosmic Wanderer is, although we can presume it is some kind of celestial being like the Constellar (Algalon, Rygelon, lesser designates). Perhaps an even more interesting question is what a cosmic-themed trinket is doing in Aberrus to begin with though…
- PH – 10.1 Raid – Black Dragon Labs – Boss 4 – Dracthyr Evolution – Accessory – Trinket – Omni – another stat stick trinket like Castle Nathria’s Stone Legion Heraldry and Vault’s Whispering Incarnate Icon, though utilizing a new mechanic similar to Primal Ritual Shell; requiring the player to attune themselves to one of the Oathstones around the Dragon Isles. Interestingly though, there are only four secondary stats against five dragonflights, so it isn’t quite clear what the extra buff will be – Algethar Academy uses a similar mechanic allowing players to pledge to one of the five dragonflights, granting either Critical Strike, Haste, Mastery, Versatility, or increased healing taken, so it’s likely this trinket will do the same, although that fifth buff could be anything.
- Ward of Faceless Ire – although you might think this is meant for tanks, it’s actually a targeted shield, meaning anyone can use or benefit from it.
- PH 10.1 Raid – Black Dragon Labs – Boss 9 – Sarkareth – Accessory – Trinket – Omni – NYI
Tanks
Aside from Ward of Faceless Ire, there’s only one tank themed trinket in the raid, although its likely that tanks will use one or two of the many offensive trinkets available within the tier anyway.
- Fortified Dreadslab – looks more like a DPS trinket masquerading as a defensive one. Assuming each of the numbers presented are per stack, it doesn’t actually reduce incoming damage by that much, though if you can manage to take enough damage within its short time frame, the counter attacks could provide a big payoff in larger pulls. The 2 second ICD makes that a little more difficult, most likely intended to prevent DPS from using it and instantly retaliating with all five stacks, though most tanks shouldn’t have a problem with it.
Healers
Only one healer specific trinket so far, though no shortage of options, as Ward of Faceless Ire and several other intelligence trinkets found within the raid are well suited for the role.
- Rashok’s Molten Heart – isn’t a targetable on-use, though the dual effect helps ensure that the proc isn’t wasted by increasing the target’s performance with some bonus versatility.
