“Ghetto Hearth” is a term the community uses to describe the act of using your Hearthstone when it is on cooldown. This is especially useful in Burning Crusade, where many players will set their hearthstone in Shattrath City but often times need to travel to Stormwind City or Orgrimmar to do business on the Auction House.
By utilizing the “Ghetto Hearth” strategy, players can Hearthstone from anywhere in the world, sending them to Shattrath City. Then, take a Shattrath portal to the capital city of their faction and do business on the Auction House or visit their class trainer to learn new spells. Finally, if they Ghetto Hearth inside Stockades or Ragefire Chasm, can immediately get sent back to Shattrath City.
To do this, you need to be in a group with another player and enter a dungeon. Once inside, drop group. Because you are not a member of the group doing that dungeon, you’ll be ported to your hearthstone location, even if your Hearthstone is on cooldown. Doing this will refresh the cooldown of Hearthstone.
