Just like last time, we need to be abundantly clear that Glorbo isn’t real. The character doesn’t exist in WoW and hasn’t made their way into Destiny 2, but all the AI knows is that it must be important if people are talking about it. This quickly led to a new article citing a gamebreaking strategy with everyone’s favorite inscrutable mystery.
Much like Zleague before, Techbriefly regurgitates the popular Reddit post and many of its top-level comments to explain what seemingly has Redditors so excited. Complete with Destiny keywords like “Deepsight” and “vestiges,” as well as quotes regarding the success of the faux “Ghosts of the Deep” dungeon (not to mention the Quacken boss from the Duck Pond Easter egg), it would almost sound authentic if it weren’t quite so incoherent. Even the oddly phrased What is Destiny 2 secret boss Glorbo? section can’t quite manage to explain whether Glorbo is supposed to be a boss, strategy, or both.
At least I really hope it’s written by AI…
Once again, this just goes to highlight how inscrutable AI reporting can be, lacking any remote attempt at fact checking or even basic self awareness. Arguably, even a real human being unfamiliar with the source material could be mislead into writing about a well crafted falsehood, which isn’t out of the realm of possibility for sites intent on churning out as many articles about as many subjects as possible. These prompts are so absurd as to easily be discredited, though it could be a lot more difficult to tell if more seriously toned articles are AI generated or simply the result of rushed reporting.
Whichever the case, the Glorbo phenomena is spreading, with new posts already appearing on the Diablo and Final Fantasy XIV subreddits, as well as one enterprising Redditor going so far as to get themselves listed as the Glorbo voice actor for Dragonflight and the 2016 Warcraft movie!
