Cauldron of Extracted Putrescence
This new Cauldron of Extracted Putrescence is a bit different from previous Alchemy recipes. It acts very similar to a Portable Alchemist’s Lab Bench or Portable Tinker’s Workbench instead of a traditional Cauldron. When placed, Cauldron of Extracted Putrescence becomes a portable Altar of Decay that lasts for 10 minutes. This is a great item for Alchemists, Leatherworkers and any other crafters who are required to be near the Altar of Decay to craft a recipe.
Crafting this Cauldron
In order to craft these Cauldrons, Alchemists will have to travel to the actual Altar of Decay due to the new “Den of Decay” requirement. The Altar of Decay is found in the Dungeon, Brackenhide Hollow, after the last boss. This recipe requires a Rot Resistant Cauldron. It is a new vendor item sold by Blacksmith NPCs that currently sells for each. If this price remains the same, these Cauldrons will be very pricy to initially produce; however, once all charges of the Cauldron are consumed, you will receive the Rot Resistant Cauldron back. These Cauldrons are BoP, but they can be ordered through the Work Order system, so non-Alchemists can also get their hands on them.

Using this Cauldron
Unlike the previous Dragonflight Cauldrons, Cauldron of Extracted Putrescence does not have different qualities. Once placed, players will be able to craft items that require the Altar for 10 minutes. Each Cauldron has 3 charges, so you can get up to 30 minutes of crafting with a single Cauldron of Extracted Putrescence. It is important to note that this Cauldron does require level 70 to use, so if you are a low level crafter, you will want to level your toon to max.
