I am here to advocate for Ebyssian to lead the Black Dragonflight.
He is more likely to guide Wrathion and Sab and die in the end… or step further back… and those two will lead the black flight together…

The fact that Sabellion is basically admitting (again) that others exist to serve him and his family, and people still think he’s leadership material, is kind of gross. Blizz needs to step it up, the ‘black dragon wants full control’ story has needs to stop being drug out like this.

Doesnt… Wrathion see people as fodder as well?

look yeah I like sabellion, but can we really just trust him completely? he has still not told us exactly how he resisted the old gods and the only thing we have to work off off is that there is no old god presence in outland.

Ebyssian, and vanishing to let other people do the work at the important part, name a more iconic duo.

Wrathion has never seen us as fodder. He has always sought to empower us and fight by our side in his quest to Defend Azeroth. While his attitude at times, seems to define the opposite though, he is a very caring person who seeks to enhance the potential in everyone who he considers allies.
While I would still love Ebonhorn to become the next leader of the Black flight, I will have to say that he stepping into the role of an advisor more and more, and as a mediator between the Dracthyr and the Dragons… And perhaps that is his path. Perhaps that is where his story will be told best, and that doesn’t bother me.
I am excited to see where the story goes. It is nice to see Wrathion lower his usually pompus attitude to show the true colors of his personality, instead of constantly trying to seem strong and worthy. Meanwhile Sabellian just took a huge step in the “You are but arrows in my Quiver – Sylvanas Windrunner” direction, by stating that the rest are just fodder for his ambition to become the next black aspect.

This is what would make him the ideal aspect he could unite the black dragons and the dracthyr under one banner he could archive what neltharion failed to do. Secure the flight and take it into the future.
I still think Sab will die in the end saving the flight and Wrathion will guide the black dragons under Ebyssian as will Emberthal the Dracthyr under Ebyssian. Remember Ebyssian does not really want the power and that would make him an ideal leader because if he doesn’t want it there is little risk in abusing that power. He will only use it if he has no other choice.

I mean, he’s definitely better leadership material than Wrathion. Being a good leader does not mean being a good person, and even if it did, Sabellian doesn’t tote around his constant failures and endangerment of the world (all the while trying to “save” it) as his success stories. Never forget, Wrathion’s concern is the literal world of Azeroth itself, not the people on it. To him, we are also just tools to be used to further that end. At least Sabellian is honest enough to admit it to our faces, whereas Wrathion tries to hide it.
Remember his plan to ward against the Legion went from, “get the factions so close to eachothers’ throats that one eats the other,” to “free a charismatic mass murderer and canon war-criminal with the intention of him forming an army and either somehow randomly gaining a conscience or conquering Azeroth under a single banner,” to “Alright Imma go get some milk, the adventurers will clean up my mess, idunno, I’ll justify the wasted resources as it strengthening the armies whose supply lines have been drained almost nonstop for a decade.”
Afterwards, he only came back when he wanted something, and that also thrust the world into imminent danger, and nearly left us (whose job has become picking up his crap like a zookeeper) indisposed to deal with it (horrific visions). All this while we were still in the middle of cleaning up the fallout from his last little woopsie-doopsie-poopsie. Sabellian’s attention, meanwhile, has been turned entirely to ensuring his flight didn’t go extinct and even still he did more good for Azeroth by being away from it than Wrathion has ever done by trying to save it.

God no! I don’t have a problem with it but I don’t have the energy to listen to the complaints about that

A good analogy. But there is also the fact that he is afraid of power. It wouldn’t be unlike him to outright refuse the role. Just because he doesn’t want to lead, doesn’t make him the right choice. Power corrupts, and the only one of the three who has successfully been cured of the old gods whispers through their own research and strength, is Wrathion. He even made a potion to save Ebyssian, and a cloak for the champions to defend against corruption. But he himself, is born free of the old gods taint and has acrude power and items to specificly make it so he is not corrupted.

No idea what you are talking about. Wrathion has shown that he cares about the denizens of Azeroth as much as the planet itself. He mentions and shows so in the majority of quests. He shows remorse of what happened with the Legion, and was there front and center to defeat N’zoth. Sure, he wasn’t on his hands and knees bawling like a kid while apologizing, but he took action to help, instead of sitting around and do nothing.
Sabellian on the other hand has done far worse lorewise. The only reason people are blind to them is because they happened while they weren’t around over thousands of years ago. Heck, if it was a thousand years forwards in time, then that generation would have the same view of Wrathion, as you have of Sabellian right now.
Sabellian keeps showing why he shouldn’t lead, he is talks nice, but is just as reckless if not more so than Wrathion. He clearly doesn’t care about us, or Azeroth and just wants the Aspect powers. He sees everyone as fodder for his campaign, even his own flight. Meanwhile Wrathion brings like minded people together that is willing to take action to protect Azeroth and what they love there. Even seeing kinship with dragons like Kalegos, Humans like Anduin, and even the new Slither dragons, which Sabellian only sees as defective experiments of his father that he can use as fodder.
So, among all the three of them, Ebonhorn would be the preferable option, but Wrathion is a close Second. Sabellian is likely to abuse that power the moment he gets it. He claims that he is free of corruption, but he never discloses how he freed himself.

@Wolfyspirit1993 (sorry, not quoting that whole thing because between what I replied to, my thing, and your reply to my thing, that was almost 4k characters, and I’d also rather avoid summarizing quotes because that’s a bit of a faux pas).
Every part of what I’ve said there has directly happened and he only showed a hint of remorse after betting socked in the still quite punchable face by the kid whose father he got killed. The fact that he regrets some of it doesn’t change that WoD and Legion are directly his fault (and BfA and Shadowlands are both, directly, the result of the previous expansion). His plan from the start was not to have the Horde and Alliance set aside their differences to face an oncoming threat. His plan was to force one into a position where it would have to utterly destroy or at the very least consume the other. While both were already exhausted from a logistical standpoint. That’s what you do to eliminate an enemy, not to strengthen an ally.
Sabellian we genuinely don’t KNOW what he was directly involved in, for the most part, until the novelization of Warcraft II’s expansion, where Deathwing leaves him in charge of the dragons left to fight for Ner’zhul while Deathwing squirreled off with a certain severed head that is incapable of shutting up.
Whether Sabellian cares about us or not also does not change the objective good he has done for his own flight. Beyond our mounts, at least one drake in Dalaran working for the flightmaster, and Ebyssian, Wrathion effectively drove his entire flight to extinction. I understand, time was limited, but until Sabellian came back to Azeroth, Wrathion was the sole claimant of a throne with no kingdom.
Sabellian, on the other hand, went out-of-his-way to avenge the deaths of his kin in Outland, even stepping in to help us fight Gruul’s sons back when that was a matter of life-and-death for players, rather than just an interesting event that happened while questing. He then proceeded to save what’s left of his species, probably rather unaware that they were driven to extinction on Azeroth between us helping him and his return. All this while diverting some of his already borderline nonexistent resources to aiding the Cenarian Circle (which was most likely an early step in saving his brood that we, directly, play a role in). We can speculate about corruption, or we can extrapolate ulterior motives for a lot of this, but ultimately this shouldn’t even be a debate.
As far as the Black Dragonflight is concerned, AKA the faction we have nothing to do with but still argue who gets to rule them, Sabellian is a father figure, if not their literal outright father, while Wrathion is, to them, basically a mass-murderer. There’s a reason why at the keep, his camp are all humanoids, or are dragonkin who literally have never even left the Dragon Isles. Ebyssian is a literally who that either just doesn’t want power or who actively fears what he’ll become with it, viewing himself even being a black dragon, as per his own admission, shameful. Of the three, I genuinely think that despite all the people saying he’d make a great leader, he’d make the worst of the three, specifically within the context of the black dragons.
