Paracausal Fragment Trinkets & Time Rift Vendors
Dawn of the Infinite Mega-Dungeon Trinkets
These trinkets are currently unable to be tested on the PTR and the exact encounter each trinket drops from is still unknown. We can, however, look at the spell data for more information on their functionality.
Universal Trinket
Available to all roles, this trinket offers a flat amount of main stat and then a 3-min on-use cooldown that not only gives a decent amount of your highest secondary stat but also a future version of yourself that will cast spells suited to your role. The related spells for this trinket (Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows & Mirror of Fractured Tomorrows) don’t offer a lot of additional information as to what these extra spells could be, but there’s a lot of potential assuming your future self hasn’t developed amnesia.
Melee Trinket
Besides the flat main stat, this trinket provides a stacking haste buff that culminates in a flurry of strikes based on the number of stacks that you were able to accrue before restarting the stacking cycle. From the associated spell Accelerating Sandglass, you can see that the trinket has a fairly high 15 procs per minute. How long it takes for the hourglass to empty remains to be seen.
Caster Trinket
‘Borrowed’ power returns in Dragonflight, but this time it’s a play on words of this trinket’s effect. This trinket provides main stat and a substantial haste steroid at the risk of a Paradox that will freeze you in place for a short time 2 mins later. You can kill enemies to delay the Paradox or even avoid it completely by killing a major enemy likely a boss in this scenario.
What’s interesting about this trinket is it doesn’t appear to have a traditional cooldown like other on-use trinkets including from the spell effect itself, Time-Thief’s Gambit. While this could just be an issue with datamining, there’s a few possibilities as to why. Either the trinket can’t be reactivated while a Paradox is pending or casters will be able to continually buff themselves and either suffer back-to-back Paradox freezes later or just hope for a complete timeline restoration setting up an interesting risk-reward scenario.
Healer Trinket
Beyond the main stat, you’ll activate the trinket to store 30% of your healing up to a small amount on a 2-min cooldown. It’s unclear currently if the stored amount will be based on effective healing alone or will include overhealing. Whenever an ally drops below 35%, the stored healing will be released on them as well as a small amount of haste for an uncertain duration. Similar healer trinkets have not performed that well, but perhaps this one could break the trend.
Tank Trinket
An interesting cheat death trinket with a painful 8 minute cooldown. Not only will you be healed for a fairly sizable amount, you’ll also receive a large amount of haste and 20% damage reduction from any recent enemies who attacked you. The benefits of this trinket are limited unless you end up proccing the effect which ideally you’d want to avoid. However, there could be a particular scenario or cheese where this trinket might be invaluable.
