The number of Mythic+ dungeons being run in Worlds Dragonflight every week down dramatically in the expansions second season, when it comes to season one. When players in the games have been making efforts to find a cause for a reason for it.

In a thread posted today with data accumulated by the user named NORATHEDESTROYERWoW, the players debated how much popularity the games make up between seasons two and six.

After six weeks of the second season of WoW Dragonflight, just over 96.000 players ran Mythic+ dungeons during the last week of the game. In the last six weeks of season one the dropoff was nearly half as many dungeon runs; more than 1 million dungeons were completed if any the other week. A total of three-month dungeons run by those scouting this week dipped a million for the first time since Shadowlands.

With numbers down, the players especially in Reddit have cited plenty of reasons for a potential dropoff, including the changes to HEalers in Patch 10.1, as well as new (and occasionally confusing) Mythic+ affixes that are widely Healer-focused.

Possibly the biggest reason, however, for fewer players being tackling Mythic+ dungeons this season is the increased number of players who have already taken the new patch. Following the introduction of Shadowflame Crests, the most dedicated WoW players could fully be capable of developing the highest load of weapons, trinkets and more suited accessories for the masses of the world’s world. If it was to come and take on gear in season two, fewer players have a dedicated reason to return to mythic+ dungeons on weekly basis and hunt down the items that they need to become a full-time player.

A release in a backyard is a good factor in this downtick. In addition to The Legend of Zelda, The Tale of the Kingdom, the WoW players on Reddit cited last weeks Final Fantasy XVI release as a time-consumer that dragged them away from WoW. Although the cannicapizer could have been from within Blizzard itself, Diablo 4 taking the spotlight in a lot of new seasons for WoWs.

Blizzard games traditionally have strong player overlap between them, but fans of one game usually get involved in the other franchises that the company develops, and the relationship between WoW and Diablo fans may be the best.

With 2023 as a stacked year for games already, the WoW team will need to continue its playerbase throughout the mid-section of Dragonflight. The second half of www expansions has traditionally been difficult to navigate, while expansion launches tend to be a strong safety net for the game. Historically, Blizzard didn’t have to let numbers slide in during an expansion so it was possible to resign for the next attack.

Dragonflight is an important exception, but it does. While Mythic+ numbers are down, Blizzard still does deliver content for the game, and players are sticking around. One-way deal will be added to patch 10.1.5 on July 11 whereas the devs promised to change its content. With content-heavy patches coming every six-to-eight weeks, WoW players are constantly able to return to Dragonflight, even if they are not directly focused on their Mythic+ rating. Since it was an business, there was a constant flow of content that keeps players from subscribing and subscribing which Blizzard hoped for a bit to stay away from.
