The latest Patch 10.0.7 PTR build finally unlocks the secrets to the mysterious Winterpelt Furbolg faction, and we got through the grind to check all its rewards! This faction is very reminiscent of the old Timbermaw Hold faction in Vanilla WoW.

Unlocking the Winterpelt Furbolg Faction

Unlocking the Winterpelt Furbolg reputation is something that can be done right now in Dragonflight. To obtain the maximum currently obtainable reputation with the Winterpelt Furbolg, you must complete a couple series of quests in the Azure Span.

For the first 2 questline, they’re offered by Sonova Snowden in Theron’s Watch and Garz in Camp Nowhere. These storylines both relate with the Winterpelt Furbolg, offering a small amount of reputation with them, and can be done in any order.

Garz’s quests:

After completing these quests, you can also obtain some additional quests from Old Grimtusk after completing the storylines Snowhide Camp and Grimtusk Hideaway from the Sojourner of Azure Span achievement:

Completing all the quests above will land you at 2050/3000 Unfriendly (2245/3000 if Human), which is the current highest reputation standing you can get with the Winterpelt Furbolg before Patch 10.0.7. We do not know what exactly unlocks the next step of the Winterpelt Furbolg reputation as of the time of this post, so it is recommended to complete all the above steps before you’re ready to start the next grind.

Grinding Winterpelt Furbolg Reputation

Once Patch 10.0.7 arrives and you complete the previously mentioned steps, Sonova Snowden will mail you Sonova’s Request, which will unlock the next portion of the Winterpelt Furbolg reputation.

Sonova breaks out to you that he’s learned that the Winterpelt Furbolg are a secluded Furbolg tribe, afraid of interacting with the outside world, and much of it is caused by the Primalists in the Azure Span. This portion ends with the quest Academic Acquisitions, which requires you to obtain Liberated Furbolg Artifacts from Primalists in the zone. At this point, you will become Neutral with the Winterpelt Furbolg and be able to “communicate” with them, but you will not understand much of anything that they say.

Sorry, can you say that again?

If you remember the Timbermaw Hold faction back in Vanilla WoW, grinding reputation with the Winterpelt Furbolg is done in a similar fashion – You must continuously grind Liberated Furbolg Artifacts from Primalists in the Azure Span. There is a difference, though – Instead of earning reputation, each turn-in of artifacts will instead grant you a better understanding of the Furbolg language.

If only learning was this easy…

Each turn-in of 5 Liberated Furbolg Artifacts will grant you an additional skill point in Language: Furbolg. You can also rarely obtain Intact Scribe Stick, which can also be turned in for 1 point in Language: Furbolg. For every 25 points in Language: Furbolg, you will unlock a new quick questline with the Winterpelt Furbolg that tells you more about their backstory, which will give you enough reputation to jump to the next reputation level with them.

With this, you will need 125 Liberated Furbolg Artifacts per reputation level with the Wintepelt Furbolg, and a grand total of 600 to go all the way from Neutral to Exalted. The drop rates for Liberated Furbolg Artifacts are high, so it shouldn’t take longer than a couple of hours to complete the reputation grind, depending on mob competition.

Learning How To Speak Furbolg?

One thing that players have noticed is the achievement for reaching skill 100 in the Furbolg language – The wording on the achievement implies that the players might actually be able to speak in Furbolg themselves.

It is currently unknown if this is just some cute achievement wording or if this will actually allow your character to speak Furbolg in chat, but the option is currently not available for characters that did earn the achievement. It would be cool if that became a reward, though!

Winterpelt Furbolg Rewards

There are two ways of obtaining rewards with the Winterpelt Furbolg: You’ll gain rewards with the questlines available every 25 language points you gain with them, and you can also purchase extra rewards from a quartermaster at Winterpelt Hollow.

Winterpelt Furbolg Questlines

With every 25 points in Language: Furbolg, you will unlock new questlines with Furbolg-themed rewards at the end.

  • Friendly: Winterpelt Totem – ilvl392 Primary Stat trinket that summons a Winterpelt Totem at a target location for 20 seconds when used. Party members near the totem have a high chance of dealing extra Nature damage on abilities and spells. Damage increased for Furbolg allies.
  • Honored: Reading Glasses – Toy that gives your character reading glasses for 5 minutes, but can be quite uncomfortable for the eyes.
  • Revered: Defender of the Winterpelt – ilvl395 Primary Stat trinket that gives you a low chance on abilities and spells to summon a Furbolg ally to defend you for 30 seconds.
  • Exalted: Primal Stave of Claw and Fur – Dragonflight version of the Stave of Fur and Claw, transforms you into a Winterpelt Furbolg for 5 minutes. 10 minute cooldown.

Winterpelt Furbolg Reputation

Winterpelt Furbolg reputation rewards can be purchased from Kazzi in Winterpelt Hollow. As of the time of the post, all rewards cost Dragon Isles Supplies. Notable rewards include food basket transmogs, an ice elemental battle pet and some of the previously missing dragonriding customizations.
