Since then, it has been discovered that Amazon France has a new WoW book listing! This new book is title War of the Scaleborn, and it has a (probably placeholder) release date of October 31st, 2023. Thanks to Mymindwontquiet for the tip!
War of the Scaleborn – Amazon France Pre-Order
The name “War of the Scaleborn” has been namedropped in the past – Narrative Director Steve Danuser mention it as the name for the conflict against the Dragonflights and the Primal Incarnates, and ended with the imprisonment of the latter – Raszageth by Froststone Vault in the Forbidden Reach, and Iridikron, Fyrakk and Vyranoth at the Vault of the Incarnates. This has been mentioned on the interview by French YouTuber Sam Vostok back in October of 2022.
Because of this, we believe this new book will detail the events of the conflict that happened over 20,000 years ago. As of the time of this post, all information we have on this book is the title, with no information on things such as who’s narrating the story.
War of the Scaleborn quest is at 26:20. Interview is in French, but questions and answers are transcribed in English.
Proto-drakes (or Primal Dragons, as they prefer to be known) are dragons untouched by titan influence. In contrast, the Aspects and members of the ordered Dragonflights were physically altered and shaped by titan energies.
This difference is not just biological, but ideological as well. The Incarnates founded the Primalist movement on the belief that dragons should not be changed by outside influences like the titans.
What began as a difference of opinion grew into hard feelings, hard feelings grew into dissent, and dissent grew into conflict. The War of the Scaleborn divided dragonkin long ago, and threatens to do so again should the Incarnates be freed.
