NEW Unexpected WotLK Classic Changes From Blizzard!
Hey everyone today we have some huge updates in Wrath Classic including ULDUAR NERFS, PALADIN BUFFS, and BLIZZARD has to pay a $35 million dollar fine. Glad I’m not them. We’ve got a lot to cover today, but before we begin, don’t forget to hit the Like and Subscribe button to stay up to date on what’s happening.
So, THE ULDUAR NERFS ARE HERE already! XT-002 Deconstructor 25 man hardmode was a boss that literally NOBODY had cleared and raid logged because there were no successful clears for the hardmode before January 31st. This prompted Blizzard to swiftly implement nerfs to this boss, but only the hardmode.
The 10 man hardmode was successfully cleared, and I recall it being a decently hard fight with a couple mechanics to respond to, mainly running out of the raid, using raid-wide damage mitigation and raid healing, and once hard mode is activated by destroying his heart, playing slightly differently, running closer to the tanks when Searing Light is cast on you so that the Life Spark, which deals periodic raid-wide damage, can be picked up by the tank and focused down.
However, I also recall our raid not even attempting hardmode XT-002 Deconstructor because nobody was able to defeat it. And so, this pre-nerf XT-002 certainly seems like he was too difficult.
So, the nerfs! This is what changed for both 10 and 25 man hardmodes:
In 10 man hardmode: The total damage required to defeat XT-002 was reduced by 20% during the heartbreak phase. So that means less heart health. The heartbreak health buff was reduced to 40%, it was 90%, so an absolute decrease of 50%, and Life Spark Health is now 100,800, which is less.
In 25 man hardmode we saw similar nerfs: the Heartbreak health buff is now 40% reduced from 90%, the base health of the boss is now 18 million instead of 25 million, heart health is now reduced from 6 million to 4 million, that’s a huge decrease, the heartbreak health buff is now 25 million from previously 48 million, and that’s nearly a 50% decrease. And the Life Spark Health is now 302,000, previously 352,000, a minor health nerf.
So these changes went into effect on January 31st, and what do you know, tons of warcraft logs showing hardmode XT-002 is defeated. Do you ever wonder if the boss was that hard or if the nerfs just motivated everyone to try harder or to attempt him in the first place? I’m sure he was super hard, but I wonder if he really truly was IMPOSSIBLE to defeat before.
This is a pretty fast nerf considering we are now only on the third week of Ulduar in Phase 2 wrath classic, especially since everyone thought that the item level buff would make ulduar a walk in the park. I don’t mind nerfs since I’m not super competitive in PvE, but for the hardcore players who may have wanted to collect more hardmode gear from other bosses to eventually defeat XT-002 on the pre-nerf hardmode, this early nerf may be upsetting.
And more MASSIVE NEWS, Paladins, yes that’s right PALADINS are getting BUFFED in wrath classic. I never thought I’d see the day.
There are two changes happening in an upcoming weekly maintenance period within the next few weeks:
A new Major Glyph for Paladins is being added to the game: Glyph of Reckoning – Your Hand of Reckoning spell no longer taunts the target and can deal damage to untauntable targets. This new glyph is available from Inscription trainers in Dalaran.
The Holy Vengeance and Blood Corruption DoT effects from Seal of Vengeance.

Eh, $35m doesn't even register as a slap on the wrist for companies like Blizzard. Companies that big have large amounts of cash set aside for legal fees and fines such as this. That amount probably barely made a ripple.

They killed algalon on 10/25 man.. and he was supposed to be hardest boss in instance, so yea… nurf to xt was required
XT's nerf was way too soon. He was not gatekeeping anything in HM like Realm First achi or further progress. They should have given top guilds at least another month to gear up and get him down in HM. That would be such an accomplishment. Imagine the satisfaction of having the ''World First XT-002 HM Kill'' or something like that. I am really annoyed by it and i'm not even in a top guild.

So they buffed paladins because their dots???? Fucj paladin dots, try being an afflic lock and switchimg targets mid fight.

I started Ret Pally after being away from WoW a loooong time. It's been a blast so far but i was very worried about my DPS, being so behind, and being meme tier DPS? I mean shoot i don't mind a dad guild, i prefer it actually now that i'm 40 lol, but i don't want to be a wet mop in normal raids. I don't plan to advance beyond normal. But who knows.
how about a fucking dungeon finder so i can actually gear my new 80's that absolutely no one will group with because of gear score

As a warrior I'm worried about them changing it, everyone memes haha Fury so bad, but I say one wrong Buff and Warrior takes the NR. 1 spot and everyone will want to play it (which is bad for me who plays the class for the fun mechanic) Call it copium but I'm already with just purple and blue logs sometimes top 3 in 25man on bosses like hodir, thorim and razorscale in which you get to cleave some adds or get heavy damage buffs to crits.
Blizz argument literally makes no sense because ret paladins are balanced around T10 in T7-8-9 content. Just more word salads from blizz because they are too lazy to make classes play like they actually did in those raid tiers.
Pretty clear that Aggrend mains a ret pally and is sick of getting snuffed for group invites. Sad.
